do you think they should bring back these kind of programs ?
Or make a movie out of one like they did with Magic Roundabout ( thought it was well done actually )
What other programs can you remember from that era ( to those that were little kids back then)

Mr Ben was my fave cos I used to like to guess which outfit he would be wearing. I also loved The Flumps and Rhubard and Custard (which is on tv again). Definately bring back classic tv
programmes. These days it's like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel. ie Boobahs - a total flop. They looked like big hairy pen*ses! Bring back Rainbow!

I remember Mr. Benn! I don't remember Bod, and I wasn't a fan of Captain Pugwash and Ivor the Engine. I do think the shows that I grew up watching are a lot more fun than some of the shows today's children are watching.

Making movies would definitely introduce the shows to a new audience. I understand that to entice today's children that they need to be better animated, and I suppose if programmes were recreated, they'd have to do that.

I also remember shows such as Rainbow, Postman Pat, Charlie Chalk, Bertha, Fireman Sam, and Playdays.

Humdidum, I'm not that old, really I'm not.... Well I don't recall watching Bod, pugwash or ivor but that was probably just because I didn't watch them rather than they weren't on. Mr. Ben came back again recently when my oldest son was about 2. I didn't really like it though. Thomas the tank engine should be back, I know it is sometimes but it shuold be on all the time. And Terrahawks and Thundercats and He-Man and Pob and Words and Pictures(the old one with wordy nit the poopy one that they have now) and Danger Mouse and Duckula and Trapdoor..... Oh it's late, I better stop there!

Roger the Cabin Boy was a myth, as was Seaman Staines. It was Tom the cabin boy. I have great pleasure buying DVDs of such classics for my 4 and 2 yaer olds. The 4 year old, Max, loves Noggin the Nog, Mr Benn, the Clangers, Captain Pugwash and Ivor the Engine. Oliver Postgate is God!

I'm 18 now. When I was little there was Barney the Dog, Sesame Street, Charlie Chalk, Playdays, Shut Up and Tidy Up (whatever that is, I remember the name), Barney (the dinosaur), Pingu, Rainbow, Family Ness, Fingermouse, Fragglerock, The Muppets, Penny Crayon, Thomas the Tank Engine, Nelly the Elephant, Sooty, Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men and The Magic Roundabout.

I think you are all just trying to guess peoples ages on here!!!

But, yes, I do. I didn't like the remake on magic roundabout - the voices were all wrong.

I have to love Ivor the engine - being Welsh an all that.
Captain Pugwash was too rude - it would never be allowed today - not pc.
Bod - I just loved the doo doo doo do do do do do when he walked in at the introduction.
Mr Ben scarred me - I still won't go into changing rooms today!!

I loved Jamie & The Magic Torch.

What about pipkins with Hartley the hare and Topov the monkey.
Also loved the " Herb Garden" with the green lion called parsley.
The Flumps were also rather enjoyable.
