Well, my mom has bipolar..and she's on medication. If you do not take that medicine...I can assure you there is nothing you can do to control it. My mom stopped taking it and all I'll say is that there wasn't a good result. Please take it if you really wanna make sure you don't get violent or anything...

First off, just because you have a temper doesn't mean you're going to direct it at people or animals. If you HAVE been violent towards people or animals then you definitely need to seek professional help.
If you haven't been violent during your rage, perhaps you can take steps yourself to realize what's happening and control it. Spend some time thinking about the things that normally make you mad and visualize yourself reacting in a more controlled manner. Train yourself to respond that way when something really does make you angry. Tell people you love about your problem and that you are working on it. Ask them to help you. If this doesn't work, seek professional help.

You're fully aware U may have a problem, That's good!
Now hold that thought that U need to maintain control. Try meditation or even Yoga to improve your concentration.
Shame your Mum can't afford the pills but there must be a herbal alternative.
Look in2 it .
& you're a V mature 13 year old.
I would advise U 2 never smoke dope, it could make U worse.

Bi-polar can only be diagnosed by a physician/psychiatrist. The sysmptoms you have described are in no way indicative of bipolar disorder. You sound like you have an anger management problem. You should see a psychiatrist or counselor. If you mom won't help you, talk to your guidance counselor at school to see if they can help you get the assistance you need. Don't try to self diagnose, you don't know what you are talking about.

You have to find out what's making you so angry...usually, sadness comes first, then there's the anger. So, what's making you sad? Do you feel like you're not getting enough attention from your parents or friends? Sometimes when I get mad, I just take a deep breath and count backwards from ten to one. I think that there's a purpose to everything, and if things aren't going my way, then I'm supposed to learn from it. Finding your spiritual side helps lessen the anger as well as helping others who are less fortunate than you are.
Hope things get better for you!

Bipolar disorder is not just getting really pissed. It is also difficult to diagnose. Characteristics of it include periods of depression, which can lead to suicidal thoughts, and periods of mania, which can lead to risky behaviors, such as harming yourself, others, extravagant spending, drugs, etc. If you have really been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, then you really do need to get help. Without medication and/or therapy, you are just asking for trouble.

Breathe and maybe count to 10 every time something makes you mad!! Think about what outcomes might be before you act! Trust me, I don't have bipolar but I have to do the same thing, and most of the time it works!

Sounds like at age 13, your future is already written...and it doesn't look good. Like every other child, you want your problems to go away at the wave of a magic wand. You need to take your meds, and you need to see your Doctor...BOTH AS PRESCRIBED. If not, given what you said, I see you in jail by 17 for your self described violent behavior.

Do you have any other trusted adult in your life that you can talk to? How about a school counselor? It sounds like you need to get on some medication or at the very least have someone to talk to about this stuff.

I think the best way to handle the situation is to get the medication and help you need. Good Luck.
