When I upload my home page onto a server and try to access it, I can only access it by going to www.domain.com/index.htm (The page is saved as index.htm) How do I make it so my home page will be displayed when I go to www.domain.com??

Try renaming that file to index.html. Some browsers do not support the extension .htm as being the homepage for your main domain.

Check with whoever is hosting your web page. They will normally have a specific file name set as the default home page for all the sites the host. This is a server setting which you (unfortunately) can not change. (Try default.htm and home.htm. Both of those are common. Also try .html rather than just .htm as well)

On most servers, you should get that page by default. If it's an Apache server, that can be overridden by adding "DirectoryIndex filename.html" to the .htaccess file. If there's a .htaccess file in your home directory, have a look at that. Otherwise, talk to your ISP.
