I want to get some good, strong studio speakers for my computer, but most of what I find is not made for home audio or something like that. If I buy speakers that have the RCA jacks on the back, is there an adapter that I can plug them into that will then plug into my computer's speaker port?

Yeah, you can pick them up at Radio Shack or many other electronics stores.

My desk computer sound card has mini jacks with two lines of output each, Lf. Rt; Rear Lf, Rt; Center, Sub wfr. All are "line level" output. must be amplified for your "Just speaker" Aplication. Line level will run head phones but not 15" wolfers in cabinets. If you are connecting from same, plan on running through a stereo reciver. Mine is XP with Sound Blaster Card.

That is the wrong kind of amplifier. That is a phono preamp, to amplify the microvolt signal from a phono cartridge to the 1V line. You need an audio power amplifier that has an input level control. You can probably get an old stereo receiver cheap.
