The difference between a Republican and a Democrat is the 2 centimeters between the checkboxes on your voter registration form.
If you check the Republican box, you're a Republican. If you check the Democrat box, you're a Democrat.
Now do you see why political parties are so silly? :)

Republicans believe in a weak federal government, and strong state governments. That business should not be strongly regulated, but a persons private life should be.
Where as Democrats believe in a strong federal government, and weaker state governments, That business should be strongly regulated, but a persons private life should not be.
Democrats believe that the government should provide a great deal of funding for social programs like welfare. Republicans believe these programs actually do more harm than good.
Republicans are thought to be less willing than Democrats to work together with the international community, but if you ignore current events, and look at history both parties at times have worked well with other countries.
There are of course a lot of other differences, but there is one thing they definitely have in common. THEY LOVE TO LIE, AND ARGUE!

There is absolutely no difference in the political parties of USA. In Louisiana, a Democrat changed his party affiliation to Republican just minutes prior to the deadline for registering as a candidate. Scarcely a soul who had contributed financially to his campaign demanded their money back, because ultimately they knew that it didn't matter. Rep. Rodney Alexander was the scoundrel that left us with only one candidate last time around. If there is an act of tyranny, it is the denial to the people of choice. And that is exactly what he did. He is a sorry S.O.B.

Republicans are conservative.
Democrats are liberal.
Canada's party names are better, because they say their opinion right out. Not like the fancy-pancy American party names.
I also have another question. What are the Whig and Tory parties?

Republicans are 'generally' conservative and are attached to more state right's issues instead of a stronger central government... and lower taxes and such.
Democrats are 'generally' liberal and are at to a stronger role for the Federal government... and they support issues such as more domestic issues through government participation.
I am neither one.

I am more for the person. I consider myself a democrat overall but I like McCain. I would vote for Gore if he ran again but not Hillary.

No real difference, just rich white men controlling 99 percent of the population with lies and propaganda and a false dillemma.
