The first thing you need to do is charge the system and leak test it. You can buy a kit at most parts stores to recharge the R134 systems. Follow the instructions and if it does not hold the charge take it to a Mechanic.

in simple terms call a repairman and ask for a quote. If the restoration is less costly, then get it restoration and restoration. If no longer bypass and purchase a clean air-conditioner. It perchance via no longer sufficient air con gasoline.

You might need a recharge in the ac but check the condenser unit and other systems for any leaks or blockages just in case. If you run the ac a lot it may just need a recharge.

Maybe you need some anti-freeze. But I think the best solution for the problem would be to go to the mechanic.
