I'd say go to college first, go to a college that offers Air Force ROTC, that's officer training. If you seriously want to be an officer and not just enlisted, I would not enlist first. Join ROTC, you can get an ROTC scholarship that will pay for your education if you agree to sign up for the Air Force after graduation. Check out the Air Force website for more info on ROTC, ROTC scholarships and a list of colleges and universities that offer Air Force ROTC

Their are several ways to pursue a college education while in the service. You can use the tuition assistance money and attend classes. There are a couple of programs to get the service to send you to school full time. If you complete college and are selected for officer candidate school, you can earn your commission as an officer. Your recruiter should be able to explain the programs available and the time in service requirements for each.

There are programs in the military where you can go to college, have it paid for, and get a salary and have your time in service count toward retirement. This is a very competitive program and you have to major in something that is beneficial to that branch of service. Talk to a recruiter (but don't let him convince you to join) to get details. Good Luck!
