it was actuall named after the most flatulant man in England back in the 14th century, sir Montigue Fartastaum.
He could really fill a room, and unfortunately for him filled the wrong one. You see, Montigue died in an explosion from 'natural' gas in his kitchen.

The term Fart is derived from old English language, and specifically a word 'feortan' (originating from Germanic root)...... But basically means Flatulence!!!!! (Having a 'Bum Cough' as my friend's little kids say!)

The fart can date back to the dawn of english langauge. What was that sound Sir Lock? I don't know sire. I belive it came from the rear. Thats funny sound. That funny *** rear thing smells. Sire...! ive got it... Lets name it funny *** rear things. Thats to long lets shorten it. How about F.A.R.T So let it be known fart.. add that to websters catolog. The proper word for it is a "flatus" from flatulence. irrespective of why it gets called a fart, FART is still a great name and a comic staple.
