Simple like the answer about realigns. People use what ever they can to put forth their beliefs like bl aiming religion or Bush. You have to understand that this part of the world has hate that goes back to the start of man in what we call the cave man then the cooper, bronze and then the iron. People have raped murdered and enslaved. Saddam was just like this and also Iran and other Muslims would like to finish what Hitler came close to with the Jews. Chi stains have been a apart of this on both sides and all party's share blame. But unlike the person who hates God he blames every one but him self. And theses people the news like to call insurgents are evil terrorist who wish to be head any one one is not like them.

It is a combination of things, mainly though the location of the Middle East, geography has a lot to do with it. If the countries of the Middle East are somewhere in the Amazon I do not think there will be any significant squabble. Middle East is the gateway between East and West, both powers, (Eastern or Western power: depending on time in history), have an interest in controlling the region...for resources and location, however the most significant resource is, no not oil, but people of the region. It is their significant potential to become a superpower. Suppressing them/region and guarding vital gateway is beneficial to interested super-powerful party(ies).

These problems are primarily religious. In Israel and Palestine, the Jews have just as recently as the 1940's been able to claim a nation for their people, after thousands of years of being spread out around the world. The Palestinians claim that part of the nation of Israel is theirs. They both claim the capital, Jerusalem, is theirs. In other Muslim nations, there are two sects of Islam, Sunni and Shi'a, which fight over beliefs.

As everyone else has stated... much of it is religious... you can't argue with a God in a book that can't be wrong... so what happens when two Gods disagree... the people who support the religions fight until there is none left of one of the religions...
There is no flexibility in most religions... only right and wrong, and when two people are on opposite sides, both of which can not be wrong, there will be no peace...

Israel is carrying out a slow motion genocide against the palestinians. If you had no food and were forced to drink sewage water and live in a metal box the size of a car, you would fight 2.

My opinion is that it all comes down to money/ economics. no matter what religion it is. it all comes down to what people want for themselves. ie example- Iraq invading Kuwait and warring with Iran. The Crusades, Isreal and Palestinian conflict, etc...) The world is not always fair, people are not perfect and each have different-conflicting beliefs/ goals that is why fighting occurs, but thats my opinion.

Because of religion, there will never be peace in the middle east.
Trying to stop it is futile.
We should be concentrating on countries who like us & want &
need our help, like Africa.
