Several ways
#1-Connect both computers to a network, transfer files
#2-Back up data onto USB Memory device, CD-R, DVD, put into new machine and transfer files
#3-Remove hard drive from old machine, re-pin jumper setting to "Slave", put into new machine, alter BIOS to find drive, transfer files

The only way you can transfer info to a new computer is by getting a boot cd.... that is called windows xp cd and it will record the info on your old computer and transfer to the new computer in no time. If you have problem you can also get a usb cord for your new computer and hook it up to ur new computer and it will transfer your infomation later good luck

This happens so often that Macs have come with the utility to do this for 2 or 3 years.
See the "Switch 101" document if your old computer is a non-Apple brand.
If your old computer is an Apple, just see the "Setup Features" page.
Hope your new one works better than your last.

Safest way is burn your data onto a CD or DVD then copy it. You cannot transfer programs (unless they are stand-alones like old dos ones) as the program has to load in the registry. You can also take the drive out and either connect it as an external with an adaptor kit or connect it internally as a slave. You could also email all the data to yourself or connect 2 computers together using special cables (xover).

this can be a good question because I look to ought to purchase a more effective positive computer the different 3 hundred and sixty 5 days or so. and that i do not have an answer because different solutions are sound. I easily have a extra question even if: when you move your purposes, because your configuations are new (and that i'm no longer particular what records is easily amassed through software companies) does that mess with the utilising's licensing to you?

The best way in my opinion to transfer information is by using a flash disk. You can buy one at your local Future Shop or Staples store, they're not too expensive and depending on the storage capacity you can hold a lot of information. I guess it just depends on what you want to move though, if it's documents and pictures, usually just a compact disc that you burn as a data disc works well, if it's music...well music is always a pain for me but try transferring it by burning as data discs as well. Hope that helps a little bit.

WinXP has a file transfer option. If you have a different OS, use a CD/DVD burner, zip drive, or any portable storage media.
