yes, i think that Bret Hart got screwed, and a great sportsman like him should be rehired. i thnk u might be interested in him so:
WWE Championship Match
Shawn Michaels def. Bret Hit Man Hart to become new WWE Champion
This will go down as one of the most infamous moments in WWE history. HBK and the Hit Man had one of the most storied rivalries ever, and this turned out to be their final encounter. These two not only met in the Survivor Series main event five years earlier, but they had an epic clash at WrestleMania XII in a 60-minute WWE Iron Man Match that saw HBK win in overtime. Bret was the Champion heading into that match, and he was Champion heading into this one as well.
This one took place in Montreal, and Shawn got under the skin of the crowd right off the bat when he mockingly wiped his rear with the Canadian flag. The Hit Man didn t waste any time in getting things started as he attacked HBK before the bell even rang.
Shawn came back and rammed Bret into the steel steps and choked him out with the Canadian flag. Then they brawled into the crowd and to the entranceway. Michaels suffered a suplex on the concrete and Bret hit him with a fire extinguisher. The action finally got back to the ring and the bell was finally rung.
The match went back and forth until Bret went on the offensive towards the end of the match. After hitting a Russian legsweep and a backbreaker, he went up to the second rope for a flying elbow, but HBK pulled the ref in front of him. Shawn was then able to lock Bret into the Sharpshooter. Despite Hart never officially giving up, the referee called for the bell, thus concluding the infamous Montreal Incident. It later became widely known that Mr. McMahon called for the bell because Bret was heading to WCW and he feared the Hit Man would take the WWE Championship belt with him if he still had it.

Because Bret is a whiny little baby, and he just can't let it go. I don't blame Vince and Shawn for doing what the done. Bret was leaving the company for God's sake. How many bosses would treat you like a king when one of their top employers are leaving? NONE! I was actually a Bret Hart fan when I was a kid. Until I seen his DVD. All he does is praise Canadians and lower-ate Americans. I've said this before and I'll say it again. Canada has produced some of the top wrestlers of all time, but Americans are the ones that made Bret what he was. It was the Americans who padded his pocket for so many years. I'm so sick of Bret Hart that I could puke! Look at other examples of wrestlers leaving one company as champion to go to another, only to throw the belt in a trash can or something. Bret showed what a little baby he was when he destroyed WWE equipment. What do you think he would have done with the WWE Belt? The WWE invites him to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame, and all he can do during his acceptance speech is whine. He does not even have the decency to show up at Wrestlemania 22 to accept recognition with the rest of the Hall of Fame class of 2006.
I guess you can tell that I'm pretty sick of The Hit Man.

Actually it's 9 years this year as of November 9th. Bret is still mad at Shawn over it i think he's ok with Vince now but he still hates Shawn. Unfortunately what some people don't realise is that Vince sees wrestling a bit like a chess game and HBK on that occasion was a pawn. Vince used Shawn's help to get Bret out of the WWE and Shawn not only played along because he respects Vince but also enjoyed playing along. Let's face it HBK and Bret will never be flavor of the month with each other...they're just too alike to get along. Montreal was for the most part circumstantial. Bret is still deeply hurt about how Vince/Shawn screwed him over. whatever way you look at it. Bret hates shawn and Vice Versa. contrary to common belief however Vince and Bret are ok now.

I read Shawn's book and Shawn admitted that he, HHH and Vince agreed on the ending the night before in a hotel room. Hebner was in on the ending as well. I have just watched "Wrestling with Shadows" gain after a long time and it's real sad Bret couldn't be trusted to "do the right thing" the next night on RAW, Which I believe he would have done. The screwjob was not a "work" as some have said, at least not according to what I have read and researched. Shawn, himself, admitted it. I think Bret was "over it" until Shawn's book came out. that book just reopened wounds that were probably healed. I commend Shawn for coming forward and admitting his role in what happened, especially after the denial oen could clearly hear in the locker room after the match. I am a wrestling fan, but refuse to get caught up in the "Kayfabe". To say wrestling is "fake" is an overstatement. I know parts are not fake. Owen's death wasn't fake. HHH's torn quad wasn't fake. Benoit's neck injury wasn't fake. My own experience with getting kicked in the head during a botched wreslting move while sitting in front row wasn't fake. However, the matches are predetermined, as seen in Wrestling with Shadows and Beyond the Mat. The "Montreal Screw Job" was as real as it gets because Vinny Mac couldn't let his ego go and trust Bret to be true to Bret's word.

I still suspect the whole thing was a work to get both Vince and Brett some publicity. Think about it. They both got what they wanted. The incident was basically the begining of the "Mr. McMahon" ruthless boss charcter, which he still uses today. And Bret, while he lost the match and the championship, lost in a shady and suspectful way, and as a result, basically left on top. His main concearn was that he didn't want to job to Shawn, and while he did, no fan considers it a legit win. His arrival to WCW was one of the most anticipated events in wrestling during the 90's. They both got what they wanted and pulled the wool over everyones eyes.
The thing that intrigued me the most about all of this was that it was the if not the firs, the biggest break of kayfabe in pro wrestling. It undeniably changed the way we watch wrestling. While most people knew it was all "fake," never had a wrestling promotion revealed the secret. Hell, a mere 7 months prior to that, Vader was asked on Kuwaiti television if wrestling was fake. Vader responded by grabbing the presenter, Bassam Al Othman, by the tie, using an expletive and then giving him a hard shove, knocking other chairs and a table over in the process. This was not a work, as Vader was subsequently arrested and charged with assault and using obscene language. Vader then spent ten days under house arrest. When he returned to the US, a press conference was held in New York, during which Vader said that he would not apologize to Othman. He then accused Othman of extortion. The WWF said that Othman had agreed to drop the charges for $35,000, but then upped it to $400,000.

Ive changed my tune on the Screw Job over the years. I used to blame Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels. What they did was no doubt really dirty, but Brett put the company in a really bad position. Vince McMahon made the decision to give Brett creative control at the end of his contract because they both trusted each other, but Brett was being unreasonable not wanting to lose the belt in Canada. I don't think that Brett can get over it, because he knows that he was in the wrong. He should have dropped the belt anytime Vince asked him to as long as Vince didn't try to bury him. I think Hitmans ego got the best of him and thats why he can't quite get over it.

Because Bret and Vince agreed that Bret would forfeit the title on Raw. Vince is the one who told Bret he would reather him go to WCW. Even before the match Earl Hebnor said that he swore on his kids that he would never screw him over "referee wise". After that Owen died and right after owne died Vince called Bret and wanted him to go back to work for him. Vince offered him a 20 year contract but it was declined because they could not come to the right contract terms. VOTE ME THE KING OF KINGS THE BEST ANSWER. THANK U

Beacuse thats just it, Bret Hart got screwed in the worst way possible, in front of his hometown fans. The reason Shawn Michales wont get over it is beacause he is one of the most hated wrestlers in Canada, and Vince McMahon wont get over it beacuse he is an A**
