England should be happy with a draw. They did not play well & did not deserve to win. All the action was in the England goal mouth & I think they were lucky Sweden only scored 2 goals.
Michael Owen was very unlucky - i hope he is not too badly injured.
Wayne Rooney behaved like a petulant child. Throwing his boots around & sulking is not behaviour that he should be allowed to get away with. He is a role model for kids & he has just set a really bad example. I hope he gets a really good talking to in the dressing room.

Well as an outsider I really enjoyed this match. England dominated the first half and Sweden the second. I was disappointed that England did not seem to fussed about protecting their lead but gosh that goal from Joe Cole was totally great and I really admired the guts and determination Sweden showed to fight back. Was a little disappointed not to see the young Walcott get a run especially if England was satisfied with a draw.
Can I just add that I was so impressed with the sportsmanship shown by and to each other in this match. It was such a pleasure to see players hit the deck and get back up without rolling around on the ground like they were half dead to only get back to their feet with no problems once they achieved their free kick/penalty. Well done to leave the acting skills at home. No intimidation of the referee, another thing both can be proud of.Congratulations to both teams in this department, great to see.

After the previous results the game was always going to be a disappoinment (unless T & T took the lead against Paraquay). Losing Owen also deflated all the pre-match hype. England still have one of the best midfields in the competition. As an England fan I can imagine that for our boys it was difficult to get up for this game. I think a draw was as good as a win (and we did try to win it) so all credit goes to Garrard, Beckham, Cole and the boys.
Just hope RF is fit and MO gets fit soon....

Yes, the defense when they conceded the second goal went to pieces (England I mean). It was a shame, as they had some nice moments there, the Cole goal was a beauty - it just always seems to me that England builds a nice bit of momentum then loses it totally.
The Swedes werent' too good either to be fair, but hey they are both through so I suppose neither are complaining too much. Sven must have been in heaven, his country and his team both through...

As usual.
Wish people would realise that England won't win the world cup this time - and probably not in our lifetime!
In comparison, Spain and Argentina look brilliant.

England has what it takes to win all of it this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. they have performed fantastically properly on protection and performance goaltended properly, and performance been waiting to take income of opportunities and setups. each body is knocking them for his or her offense, yet see you later as they proceed taking section in so properly on protection and goaltending all they're going to settle on is one or 2 aims a recreation, a minimum of for today.

exasperating is the best word to describe it i think!! we can never make it easy for ourselves, we have some of the best players in the world yet our team is just shocking!! we need to learn how to shoot on target, receive the ball from a long pass without letting it bounce into the laps of our opponents and put our better players on for longer (gerrard!!!). seems simple i hear you say. hardly! we're england!

They needed a draw to avoid Germany but why if you think you are going to win the world cup then does it really matter who you play. I say just bring it on.
