At the end of the day it is the child's choice and not the parents. As a parent you can't make that kind of decision for your child cause their not the one that has to live with it, the child does. Its up to them to decide what will make them happy, its a part of growing up and becoming a responsible adult. If they make the wrong choice then they just have to learn from it, its about life lessons. Parents already know whats out there, the child has to experience it and learn on their own after being informed.
