Actually a 2 part question: which company has best coverage in San Diego, CA and Gainesville, FL?

Verizon Wireless. I looked at the coverage locator for both citites and it showed great coverage.

see if cricket or u.s. cellular are in your area. They have flat plans with unlimited anytime minutes. (Usually around $45 a month)
