Yes, although in a pool the chlorine does sting a little bit.

Yes you can, but if you're in a pool, the chlorine may cause them to sting, and if you're in the ocean the salt may also cause them to sting.
If it's hard for you to keep your eyes open under the water, either wear goggles, or just practice going under water and having a friend or relative hold their fingers under the water and count down, then come up. You have to see how many fingers they have going down to know when to come up. At least that's what I tell the kids I teach swim lessons to on how to keep their eyes open under water.
If your eyes get irritated from the chlorine just pour some regular milk on them and it will take away the stinging.

yeah, easy! I have to update, I swam a 400 IM short course with no googles, I can open my eyes underwater, but I'd rather have goggles.

Yes, but its all blurry to me. Wear goggles protects your eyes from the chloride.

yes but i dont think its the best thing for you
when i was little i did it a lot in a pool and the cholrine made my eyes all swollen

Yes it might sting.
I recomend goggles if you have glasses ask the shop where you go your glasses to make you goggles.
