Before asking that question, you need to understand what evolution is. Evolution describes genetic change over time in response to environmental selection pressures on a species. This means that advantageous changes are not weeded out. In fact, all traits which do not negatively impact survival or reproduction, will not be weeded out. Nipples on a man fall into this category. Further, if anything, nipples are PROOF of evolution - In general, all species evolved from a prototype ancestral condition; thus, there exists genotypic and phenotypic similarities between members of a species and between related species. All mammals have nipples, male or female, because our earliest mammalian ancestor had nipples (in fact, what makes us all "mammals" is the ability to produce milk via "mammary" glands to nurse our young). Thus, both genders of our species (and all mammalian species) have nipples. Nipples are a conserved evolutionary trait and are not gender-specific.

Because when the embryo forms it is default "female". The Y chromosome needs to kick for the embryo to develop as male. This doesn't always happen which is why you have some females with XY chromosomes. Of course these "women" are sterile and will never menstruate.
Men can and have been able to produce breast milk.
But to put it simply: Male and female are not different species we are simply different genders. The genetics information responsible for our gender are a minute part of the whole. In order for there to be a larger change more of our characteristics would have to be contained on the X or Y chromosomes and thus sex linked. Or those traits would have to be even MORE receptive to the sex hormones.

Men have nipples because in animals, the female body is the template for the species (except in birds, where it's the male). It's the substitution of one Y chromosome for an X and the addition of certain hormones during pregnancy that turn the fetus into a male.

Because, contrary to popular belief, evolution isn't about perfection; it's about chance. By pure chance, the genes that give us nipples arose in the earliest mammals. And again by pure chance, those genes occurred on separate chromosomes than the genes that determine our gender. So, completely by chance, some early mammals found themselves with structures that were a great benefit to half the population (females) and irrelevant to the other half (males). The females who possessed those genes flourished and passed them down to both their daughters and their sons. Those daughters flourished, and the sons did not die off at a faster rate than other males without nipples, so over time, those nipple genes spread through the population.

Because gender is decided after our physical development begins. Embryos of males and females develop exactly the same for quite some time, before hormones cause the reproductive organs to turn either male or female.

Nipples on men have nothing to do with evolution.

Men still have nipples because all embryos are female until the production of androgens (male sex hormones like testosterone) causes the development of male sex organs. The nipples are already there when this happens, so they stay there with no further development in most cases.

Men having nipples only makes sense if evolution is indeed 'legit'.

Why would men have nipples if they were created by god? Since man was 'created in god's image' does that mean that god has nipples?

Why does god have nipples?

For that matter, why does god have intestines? Or a liver?

evolution may not be legit but may be kindda legit. i mean that it's evolving to BE legit.

for other opinions on intelligent design, why not check out the Flying Spaghetti Monster, & his creation, & his reasons for creating males with nipples. i'll put the link here.

Because nipples are used to protect the pectoreal area from excessive tension and males also have mammary glands. Sounds weird to you but males can produce milk if they recieve enough estrogens from his mother pre-partum. And DUH it does not depend on chromosomes, since the question is about evolution and women are never conceived with only XY, it's XXY.
