Sure - I know someone...my brother. He was convicted of a felony about 15-16 years ago and never committed another crime ever again. Leading the straight life for him was very easy....his one crime was a sincere mistake in judgement at a brief moment. The hardest time he had was finding a good job.
To be honest, I would have felt the same as most people if a family member hadn't experienced it. But now, I see things differently. Those who have cleaned up their act and worked hard to make things right (restitution, coming clean about the crime, doing time, etc) should have the right to a second chance.
In my humble opinion, all of us have committed felonies one way or the other. Some just got caught and others were luckier/smarter. There is hope out there for everyone, but getting a job with a record (even 15 years ago) can be tough.

My cousin just got out but he is struggling. If this is the case for you, I think if you want to change you can. You just have to work at it and have a good support system. Talk to people who really care for you and want to see the best for you. If they want to fail they will pull you right down with them. I hope you the best of luck with starting your life over. I'm sure that it is better to be free then having to be in there. Even though my cousin is having a hard time he is getting better and has a job now. I hope that this can be the same for you.

I don't know anybody who has. I am not saying that there aren't any though. I think that a majority of them slip back into their old ways and never become very productive. I am the only person on my mom's side that has never been to jail or prison and they are all still the same or even worse than before.

I'm sure there are lots of people who fit that description.
I read that "Dog the Bounty Hunter" (forgot his real name) did jail time a long time ago for being an accessory to murder while he was in some motorcycle gang or something. Now he's a born-again Christian.

I know several. They have a harder time steering their life in a better direction, because a felony conviction excludes them from several things, mostly work. But they manage.
