yes, every winter. I also live in Connecticut and we have had
snowstorms and squalls, blustering winds. I remember years ago
when the governor who happened to be Ella Grasso at the time
closed the entire state down. The snow was so high, that when
I Drove out of my driveway or hit any corners, I had to stand up
to see if any traffic was coming because you couldn't see over the snowbanks. When you live in this state , your best bet is to
drive a 4wheel drive and keep a supply of dirt, rocksalt shovels ,snowblower tuned up, and sleds.

Oh yeah!!! 3 years ago (2003) we had a snowstorm in Alabama. It snowed so hard that I couldn't go to school for 4 days and I was stuck in the house for that long!!!It was so horrible. No phone,no computer, mainly no electricity!!!My mom and sister got grumpy and so did I.Those 4 days didn't go over too well. All the snow didn't melt until, like, 2 or 3 days after I went back to school.

Yes, we have them quite a bit in the winter. Last March we had one that was more than 18 inches. They usually do a pretty good job of plowing and sanding the roads, so it's not really an excuse to stay home from work. Most of us just go in a little late. Of course you've got to get up early to clean off your car, or shovel/snowblow your driveway.
We live in Connecticut.

yes.. pretty much every winter. I live in Massachusetts so we sometimes get Nor' Easters that dump anywhere from 4 to 12 feet of snow. There's no where to put it all and driving becomes very hard. Shovelling sucks too. But if you snowboard it's awesome to get that much snow!
