I don't let my 11 year old into chat rooms at all. They are strictly forbidden. (I don't even go in there.) Our computer is situated in such a manner that we can see everything he does.

Oh man.....I thought this was going to be why do I feel I must talk to strangers.Oh well life goes on....I don't have any teenagers,mine are adults. I worry if any of my grandchildren will get caught up in this sick crap!!!

Because my kid is nosy and if I'm gonna be cheating on his mom in the backyard, I need him to be occupied. Besides, it's good for kids to interact with older people. Even if they ARE lying about their age.

It isn't that they are "letting" their children talk in chat rooms, it is just that they aren't supervising what their children do, so they are letting their children do anything.

well i have chatted in chat rooms and i think it gives people or "children" the chance to get to know other people in other places. it is couriosity (sp) is the reason.
