Not a natural way. They are from China, originally.
Raid produces a granule that can be spread like fertilizer.
Since ants just tend to move, I would try that.
We just kill the mounds as they come up.
Gasoline is the surest way to kill them but leaves a spot in the grass.
You may try Ammonia which will probably get rid of them and, if diluted enough, will fertilize your grass. However, it stinks.

Have you tried taking a shovel full from one mound and putting it in another one? Fire ants should have a war after that. My kid and I did that, at least it was fun to watch. They did just kind of move to another spot after it was over though, just like when i use ant killer on them.

Hi Dawn,
I've tried spreading baking soda on the ants and around their "nest"....seems to work....people have said that the baking soda dehydrates the ants and they die.
Good Luck.

Some say instant grits. Some say boiling water. I say ant poison. Even with that they just tend to pop up somewhere else.

Any form of really dried food works, however, I've found things like sawdust have worked better because it dries them out and makes them dehydrated.

You can burn them out...use dishwashing detergent...but nothing really works unless everyone in your neighborhood does the same thing at the same time.
