Yes, assuming you have Windows XP, you right-click anywhere in an empty spot on your desktop, select "Properties", click tab "Screen Saver", click the button "Power", click the "Hibernate" tab and uncheck the box "Enable hibernation". You can also turn off the "System standby" setting in the "Power Schemes" tab by changing the value to "Never".

Right click on your desktop and click properties. On the window that pops up, click on the Screensaver tab. At the bottom of the window there's a button that says Power, click it. This is where you can set all your settings. I keep my Power scheme to 'Always On' so that my computer never goes into hibernation and I have it set so that it turns off my monitor after 20 mins. Hope this helps.

Yes my dear I know how, just follow these simple steps...
Click on "Start" in the bottom left corner of your screen...
Go to "Control Panel", click that...
Go to "Power Options", click that...
Where it says "turn off monitor" and "turn off hard disks" and "system Standby", click on the arrows on each one and make it say "never"...
Then go to the tab that says "Hibernate" and click that...
Un-check the box that says "Enable Hibernation"...
Make sure it is clear...
Then click on "Apply" and then on "Okay" to set your changes and go out...
You may have to restart your computer for those changes to take place and be set...
Let me know if you need any further advice on this...
