sounds like the starter is about to go or maybe the timing is advanced too far,that would do it too.

Make sure all your grounds on the engine are clean and tight first. It sounds like a heat soak problem with your starter, its probably too close to the exhaust pipe and you need to put a shield around it.

starter is going bad. When your car is cold the solenoid will turn all day but when you are getting a bad starter the solenoid hates heat and will not put out the juice needed

The engine heat is affecting your starter motor. The heat shield is probably missing.

Replace the heat shield and starter motor. The problem will end.

Check your battery to see if it has dead cells.

BUT
it sounds like your starter is dragging,,hmmm---yes you will need a new one..
