I don't think it's so much that they WANT to pay more in taxes as much as it is that they are easily led by the Liberals in power who feel the best way to deal with any issue is to throw money ( tax-payers...not their own ) at it. And who can argue with their " Stellar " results ? Just look at how great Welfare works ! The bottom line is there's NO difference between the Lib And the Cons. ( if you are middle class ) They're BOTH Politicians who will waste our tax-dollars to further their own agendas and line their pockets. Rep. or Dem. if you're middle-class you're f*cked...the only question is HOW do you want to get f*cked ? would you rather have Libs giving your money to people who don't want to work, and backing issues like Gay marraige.....or by Cons. giving it to huge corporations...and making side deals with Oil conglomerates ? If you're middle-class it's the same destination, just different roads.

This is a real stunner of a question? Lets see. Clinton was the last President to balance the budget two years in a row, and Clinton even started to pay down the National debt. Compare that to where our balance of payments were at the end of Bush Sr. Administration and you don't even have to guess what is happening with Bush Jr.. The debt just keeps rising while the Bush Family runs the Country.
Now, what was the question? Something about raising taxes. No, the Democrats are going to balance the budget and start paying down the debt when we take over in 08. Oh, right, the democrats have stated that they will raise the taxes of those making 400,000./yr or more. I don't personally know anyone like that, do you?

Libs want their money just as much as Cons. Cons love to give money away to their special interests - big business, earmarks, etc.. So do libs. But at least Libs are trying to help those lower on social-economic latter.

Cons are huge spenders-- Reagan, Bush I, Bush II. largest growth in deficits were created under Reagan and Bush II. Largest tax increase by Bush I (read my lips, no new taxes-- Yeah right)

Clinton-- hmmm, could it be? Oh, a Surplus!

I'm a Dem, not purely a lib but I certainly don't want my taxes raised because the retards in DC keep spending it on things I don't support. Do we really need to odd-ball museums with fed dollars? How about a bridge ot nowhere (in Alaska-- pushed by a Republican), How about funding effect of cow-farts on global warming? How about reducting the size of the militar? 400B+ a year plus trillions in Iraq an Afghanistan.

Oh, -- I'm tired of hearing "pay your fair share". The upper 10% (or so) contribute more than 80% (or so) of the tax revenue.
Just go look at the IRS stats for various tax years and you'll see the number of returns, what their AGI is and how much they contributed to the Fed revenues.

Eventually, somebody has to pay for all this debt.

The stereo-type that liberals want more taxes is just that, a stereo-type.

Both parties use labels to make the other party sound bad, this label began because democrats generally support programs that help lower-class who are homeless, needy, etc..

Conservatives do not generally support all of these initiatives, but it is not very acceptable to say that you don't want to help starving kids or homeless, so it is easier to label democrats as "money-spenders" and "tax raisers" and attack them by changing the subject a bit.

I do believe the largest tax hike in history was approved by George Bush Sr. I also believe we had a 4 Billion dollar surplus when Bill Clinton left office and now have the largest defecit in history, go figure...

Most liberals are working class just like most conservatives. We would rather see the upper 10% pay their fair share of the taxes. They do not need tax breaks period.

Example: The Estate and Gift Tax which is paid by 2% of Americans is railed against as the "Death Tax" which conservatives use to manipulate the working class into believing their families will be taxed upon their death.

The real question should be....

Conservatives why don't you want to tax those who can afford it? Don't you want those who became wealthy because of the opportunity provided in America to pay their fair share?

You can't deficit spend while reducing taxes. Make your choice either reduce taxes or reduce spending across the board.

Conservatives, we are at war and it costs money. It costs $ to support the troops, not just empty words.

As Fort Sam Houston finished celebrating the Army's 231st birthday on Wednesday, soldiers faced the possibility of needing candles for more than just a cake.

In a notably embarrassing moment for one of the nation's oldest and most historic posts, Fort Sam has received 1,300 CPS Energy service termination notices. It's three months behind, with the last bill paid in March.

Why don't you check history a bit and you'll realize that republicans are the ones who spend the money. Liberals are just trying to get back to a balanced budget. If the republicans would stop bloating social programs and other spending, then maybe we could get rid of some taxes again.

Liberals need taxes to survive, they tax everything, they never met a new tax they didn't like. Divide and tax, if they can't tax it, ban it because anything that's been banned can be taxed. Taxes create power, and then they set up funds to handle the taxes. Without Taxes liberals are nothing at all. Liberals groups are supported by taxes and we pay taxes so they can tell us what to think.

In a perfect world, yes I would love to keep my hard earned money. But in this world there are many needed improvements.
More taxes mean more government projects, which if my math is correct, means more jobs, more people empowered, which to me as a business owner, means more possible customers.
I try to see things from a wider spectrum than my own beliefs.

We want to keep our hard earned money, its just that we also dont want our country to be underfunded. We want good public schools, good police and fire departments, no national debt, a well funded social security system, etc.. Also, by paying more taxes, the government can help to create a better economy, making your wage higher.
