Whenever I play, I always feel like a minority. Most female characters are Guys! Girls, how come you dont play?

I know a couple of women that play, and they play male characters. I am a man, and play a female character.
One thing I have found is that there are so many pubescent boys playing the game, all they think about it sex. I get hit on constantly by boys young enough to be my sons. It is kind of disgusting. Wish I had made a male character.
As to the question of why more women don't play the game. Most women like love, and romance stories and crap like that. WoW, at its heart, is a game of killing.

I used to play...but at level 58 I realized there wasn't much more to accomplish (with my objectives, anyway), and that's why I don't play now. I always felt the game lacked a female presence, too.
I've heard 15% of WoW players are female (though only half of female characters are really females). As for why more females don't play...I assume the blame's on society. A lot of girls' family and friends don't encourage them to play video games in their youth, so they don't learn how...and by the time you're mature enough to play a game like WoW, it's not as fun to learn to play video games for the first time. I doubt this trend will last, though....

Video games in general are marketed more towards male than females. Also historically, video games have always been considered more of "guy" thing. Things are changing though and the video game companies do realize there is an untapped market where they can make more money.

I have 2 70s and some lower level alliance on Dark Iron . I have 1 70 and several lower level horde on Jubei'Thos. Both are PVP servers. :)

My husband and I group together and have a grand time.
