WHY?remake The Wicker Man?

I love the origanial.Does anyone know how close to the original they plan to be? I dont think i can buy Nick Cage as a middle aged small town cop who's a virgin!!

I agree a remake of this one is a bad idea...original one was excellent and a remake will not improve on the story

Proof that Hollywood has run out of ideas ... it was not a great movie to begin with, although Edward Woodward is an excellent actor
