Why does Humor sometimes lies within long intellectual responses?

I just tried to make a funny, all I asked was Is santa real, being funny, I got a response I know Im not going to read, is this funny, was it the person purpose to try to be funny

I was trying to be stupid when typing this, like who actaully says make a funny, and JazzyJB that was funny

It is my personal opinon that injecting a little humor into an intellectual response enables more people to understand what the person is trying to communicate. Comedians, to me, are the world's best communicators of ideas because they can take complex ideas and thoughts and translate them into words that the everday Joe can understand as apposed to long-winded, scientific, philosophic, etc. explanations.
