DO CHARACTER SKETCHES! They're a pain in the butt, but they work!
Audition Tips
*Walk into the room, with an air of subtle confidence
*Have a stopping point.
*State your name with confidence
-example: Hello I'm Suzy Smith. (try not to look down at your feet, it's boring and annoying.)
*State what you'll be singing or preforming.
-example: Hello I'm Suzy Smith and I'll be singing Somewhere over the rainbow.
-example: Hellow I'm Suzy Smith and i'll be preforming a selection from Shakespeare's Hamlet
*Be sure and know what you are auditioning for. (sounds stupid but seriously)
-example: one can not go into an audition for Grease with out knowing a little bit about the fifties
-example: one can not go into an audition for Romeo and Juliet with out knowing a slight shakespearian history and not knowing how to pronounce some of the words.
*If you are auditioning for a musical, have your music on a CD or tape ALONG with sheet music (you never know, some directors prefer to work with live accompanists)
*If you are auditioning for a musical, know what song to sing (yes I know this is a given but that's not what I mean) meaning, if you are trying out for something like Wizard of Oz it is not a good idea to sing an italian opera, sing something similiar to the musicals style.
*If you are auditioning for a play in which you need to prepare a monolouge for, i suggest you choose a monolouge that has allready been writen by someone else.
*If you are auditioning for a play in which you need to prepare a monolouge for, just as for a musical know what style the play was written in, if you were auditioning for King Lear, you would not choose something from a Greek tradegy.
*remember if you are using a monolouge from a great work of literature or drama to credit what you are doing.
*If you are preforming something from a piece of literature that is unknown don't worry if you mess up if it's not a well known work the director probably won't notice.
*If something should go wrong and you miss a line or a note just keep going, do not stop, it shows that you are versitile and can keep calm under pressure of a missed cue or wrong note.
*Smile, it really helps.
Well those are all the tips I have for you, I hope your audition goes well i'm sure you'll do just great.

It sounds to me as if you HAVE the part, but want to know more about performing it well. This advice is brief by necessity. You can find more information by taking acting lessons and reading books about acting.
1. Study the play. Make a notebook containing information about your character. Understand your character's relationship to the plot and setting. Also understand your character's relationship to other characters. Who helps (or hinders) you? Whom do you help (or hinder)? If any personal details are not provided by the playwright directly, invent those details yourself based on what you do know.
2. Make a score of actions for your character. That means - write down everything your character DOES during the play. Understand what your character does and why. Feeling is important, but actions communicate emotion to the audience.
3. Look to your director for guidance. He/she has the experience and knowledge of the play necessary to make sure your performance meshes with your fellow actors.
4. Have fun!

Read "Acting - the first six lessons" by Richard Boleslavsky. An oldie but a goodie, easy to read, concise, and the single best book on acting Ive encountered in thirty years.

well to get a part in a play, movie, show or anything like that you have to audition. if your going to an audition it might be a cold read (they have the script for you there and you dont even have time to look at it) or you might have to prepare a monologue. The best way to go to auditions is looking nice and make sure you have an agent

Focus on listening to the other characters. Drop your expectations and let yourself be surprised and then react honestly.
