Tell him why you want to brake up with him, and say "I know I'm not the girl for you, but there will be another one come along.."
Or just do what I did:
"I feel you deserve better then me, so I'm going to let you go."
Truth was that guy was an asshole. Lol.

Lots of people say to be honest. I say to be honest but not cruel. You don't need to stand there and tell him everything that is wrong with him.
Simply tell him that it's not working for you and you think you need to go your seperate ways. If he asks why, tell him one or two reasons but you don't need to give him a long list of faults. An example might be, "I just don't think we have enough in common." or "We want different things and I think it's time we each pursued what we wanted." What you say really depends on your reasons for breaking up.
It's not going to be easy. He probably will be hurt - but in the long run this will be best for both of you.

just say; "ok we've had some good times, but i think it's best if we end it here. i don't want to hurt your feelings, but i think it's best if we are just friends from now on." i did that with my old boyfriend, and it worked. we are still best friends too! we both moved on and we go on double dates all the time. it's pretty cool. i hope i helped. have a nice day! :) and good luck!

just flat out tell him that u dont want to be with him anymore . hes a guy and hell probly get all torn up about it unless he rly didnt love you . but hed get over it . so just go for it . ( y do u wanna break up wit em anyway ?
