You have to go to a private place and have them done. You usually have to pay out of pocket around $160 depending on your area. They're best done after 28 weeks when the facial structures are developed and there's fat on the baby so the baby actually looks like a baby and not an alien.

Usually in the third month of your pregnancy. Sometimes in the second month. The baby is just really starting to form then. It is hard to find the heart beat at this stage. I have three kids fo my own, and that is what my doctor told me every time. I hope that you have the best fo luck with your pregnacy

I'm 12 weeks along and just hear the baby's heartbeat yesterday at my doctors appointment. They said that 12 weeks was normally when you can hear it, but that isn't always the case.

The doctor has a doppler (they sell one at the drug stores now!!) and he/she can hear the baby from week 8 with that. But since you asked about the ultrasound, YOU may have to wait until week 12 but you could hear it over ultrasound at 4 weeks. Hey! Check this out: http://www.4d-ultrasounds.com
