I was in your same position so I know where you're coming from.

I went with a French twist. Also splurged and had them do the make-up too.

It won't be cheap. You need the practice run and then the real deal. I am a frugal person and hated the thought of spending that much money, but in the end, I felt it was worth it because it looked fabulous. I also scrimped in other places to balance - lol. I live in a fair-to-middling small city so I'm sure prices would be much higher in larger cities. I think I paid $35 each time for the hair and then $15 for the face. Oh, yeah, I also went with the french manicure.

Check with your friends who's hair you like and ask who does theirs. Then call and see what they charge. Otherwise you can let your fingers do the walking and check the phone book for salons that do "special occasion" hair and make-up and compare prices.

Good luck, happy wedding and wonderful life to you.

It all depends on your dress and what time of day your wedding is. If you have a little bit of color in your dress then you should accent it in your eye shadow for day. Otherwise use brown shadows to create depth to your eyes and use a suttle color on your lips. If your wedding is at night then I would have smocky eyes and the same lip gloss. (Always use lip gloss to create a shiny, shimery lip. Your new husband will be wanting to kiss you throught the whole ceramony!) If you decide to have a red lip, or you would rather have wour lips stick out instead of your eyes then don't wear as much eyeshadow. If you plan to cry then use waterproof mascara and eyeliner. You can always get if professionally done for your wedding. It is your preference for your hair, weather you want it to be up or down, or sleek or "rough" (I would recomend getting it done the day of, or have a girlfriend do it for you) No matter what make sure you don't mess up the dress and know that your husband will think your are beautiful no matter what! *Aww true Love*

Long or short? Either way, its best to do it similar to how you normally wear it-if you want the pic to capture who you are. Unless you just don't do your hair. If thats the case-go to a salon and just get a shampoo style-don't waste your time(and CASH) on an updo, sounds like your not much of a frilly girl-you will cringe in 5-10 years at the photos if you do. Check with dept. stores make-up counters, sometimes they do make-up or your salon.

From my experience, natural is always better. Don't over do it. I would do a very light eye shadow in a color that compliments your skin tone, then light blush, light lip stick. IF you don't normally wear makeup, you don't want to look like a whole new person at your own wedding, just a pumped up version of you.

For your very special day, why not invest into having your hair and make up done by a professional. It would last all day and you'd be fabulous looking in all the photos. Think it is between $50.00 and $100.00.
