What color shoes should I wear with a red halter cocktail dress?

depends on what shade of red, what style cocktail dress, and if there are any other colors in it. for example, if it has any silver decoration in it, silver shoes would be the best way to go.

silver, black, and gold tend to go with nearly everything, especially with a basic red halter...

but i'd probably avoid red shoes. definately. don't want to look like you're rooting for a soccer team, now.

if you're confident in your fashion sense and like to take risks, what about cute white shoes with a small white clutch or a white hair piece?

A strappy heel...in any metalic color. i.e Gold, copper or silver...just make sure your accesories match! Metalic anything is very in for this year. It's summer time, so make sure it's a light shoe, no platforms or clunky heel!

p.s choosing black is dangerous...if you DO get a black shoe...make sure it's very strappy and light. Otherwise ALL the focus will be drawn to your shoe and not your wonderful face and pretty red dress!

Well, go with some skinny heels, then pick either black (for darker red) or white(for a lighter red). Also, if the cut is more 1920's inspired, go with lower (but still skinny) heels. If it is a little more modern, I would suggest pumps, or peeptoed shoes.

As always, make sure you can walk, dance, and stand around in them. It is way embarrassing when you trip on a date...

Don't match it with the dress. A nude, light pink, or even just a gloss will look good. Then you can do a more dramatic eye :)
