Hello. I am 9 weeks pregnant with my second child. I thought I was nuts when I couldn't fit into my clothes by 8 weeks, and I didn't want to seem like I was trying to rush into maternity clothes, especially at work. So of course, I started looking on all the pregnancy sites I could to find out what was going on especially since I was eating better than I ever had. But, at my appointment, my doctor assured me that everything was fine, and that I was just "showing" earlier this time. She said you will show quicker if this is your second or so pregnancy. So, don't worry, it is normal, and be excited. Some women can't wait to get to wear maternity clothes. They really are cute now a days.

Ah! Finally someone like me. I'm also 8 weeks along and I'm already wearing the maternities. Everyone I ask says it's the "bloat" - but I swear my clothes are beyond snug. Yes, limiting salt intake can minimize your Bloat - but if it's baby, i have no idea what to do. Buy the maternities though - baby shouldn't be squeezed into those jeans or whatever. Keep in touch. My email is ms.chucks@yahoo.com - just in case you wanna talk about your pregnancy...

It can be. I was unable to even get my jeans on at 8 wks and out of my sweatpants by 10! I gained a lot early on (10 lbs!) By 3 months I was looking bigger than women I knew who were 5-6 mos along and it was all belly! My Dr. kept a close eye on my weight gain and I have been pretty steady ever since then. You Dr. will check your weight at each visit and will let you know if they are concerned.
I will have to warn you though, do not buy your full maternity wardrobe now. I thought I had all I would need and found that I had to go buy some bigger items later on and even now (33 wks) One more thing...get used to these two questions, you may hear them a lot: 1) Didn't you have that baby yet? and 2) Are you sure there aren't two in there? At first they are amusing, but after the 500th time for each you get sick of answering! ;)

I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks and I went out straight away and started shopping for maternity clothes! :) I couldn't wait to wear them! It meant I was really pregnant and I was thrilled! I didn't really NEED them but it was fun to start wearing them.
All women are different and show at different times. Don't sweat it. Just enjoy the opportunity to purchase a new wardrobe. There are some really cute maternity clothes out now! Old Navy Maternity is great!

Oh hunny don't worry, you might be having a girl! They say that you gain weight alot more rapidly when your having a girl. When I was pregnant with my boy you could hardly tell untill I was about 6 to 7 months pregers, I'm 6 months pregnant now with a girl and I weigh the same that I did when I was full term with my boy. You will lose it! Breastfeeding id the key, you burn 500 calories everytime you feed! Enjoy this.. Try to at least.. Its totally worth it!

That would mean you need to start shopping for some maternity clothing that will not be so tight. Because believe me many of your clothes will start to feel snug as you get bigger.
Congratulations and Good Luck

I started showing really early like that and everyone is different. You might just have a big baby, or not it is hard to tell. I was showing really early and i had a really big boy. 9.4lbs! Just remember that every pregnancy is different and strange things happen, so just keep reading and asking people about their experience.

Yup I had that problem at six weeks. Some people get lucky and dont have that problem for a while.. just get to wear and enjoy their normal clothes... but some of us have to suffer for longer.
