You haven't washed them recently have you? The machine always eats at least one sock and then it turns up in with some other coloured things that you wouldn't put a blue sock with. I tend to just make up my own "pairs" when the pesky washing machine eats them.

They dryer ate it... how do i know this? Because I am an expert in the field of dryer etiquette. Your dryer is trying to tell you to clean out your lint filter because it could catch on fire and die. Your dryer ate the sock in a way of rebelling against you to get its point across.

it is in the land that the other socks, shoes, hats, anything and everything that is lost goes and lives. I swear there must be a black hole I lose a sock everytime I do laundry.

The borrowers stole it. It is cold under the floorboards in the winter, and they needed an extra layer for their bed. They also stole your pants for a hammock

look in the hose that goes to the dryer vent or under the dryer... i'm not sure how it happens, but you find a lot of stuff under the washer and dryer!
