The ETFs are denominated in dollars.
However, the underlying shares the ETFs own are usually denominated in the appropriate foreign currency. So the funds net asset value (NAV) will change as the foreign currency prices change.

If they are listed on our exchange, in our country, they are denominated in our currency. Same as foreign stocks, like Sony, called ADR's (American Depository Receipts) that are listed on our exchanges.

Saves a lot of trouble doesn't it, obtaining those Yen or Yuan?
