NONE
Medications are drugs and chemicals. The body is not designed to assimiliate or operate for long periods of time on drugs. Drugs create all kinds of side effects and therefore none is gentle.
Want solutions to acne then you have to look at your diet. Whole food nutritional supplements can really help but by taking drugs you are going to pay either now or down the line. The reason has to do with metabolism, assimiliation and elimination regardingthe chemicals.
Check out the side effects on even over the counter labels - it's scary. Look at those on websites for prescription drugs. Remember they aren't even telling you the whole story.

Well this depends on the intensity of your acne. If it's not very bad you don't want to use something that I very strong or it might dry out your skin and create new problems for you.
There are two major active ingredients in the acne medications that are on the market: Benzoyl Peroxide and Salycilic Acid. These are available in a wide variety of over-the-counter products as well as prescription products. For some people the Benzoyl Peroxide may not work as well as the Salycilic Acid or vice versa. It all depends on the person.
Sometimes both don't work and you may need to consult a dermatologist who will prescribe something like Differin which also works (I have friends who have used it).
The bottom line is to try the OTC products first to see which one might work before going for something more expensive. Always remember to keep your face clean but don't over wash it as this may strip the skin of natural oils which will cause it to break out more. I try to wash my face in the morning and night as a rule. Also try to drink a lot of water to keep your skin feeling fresh and soft while cleansing your system of impurities. Good luck!
