Coming from one who has done the hiring and works in the professional world definatly call. Wait some time; about 3-5 days then call. Sometimes employers get busy or have more applicants than they expected. This slows there responce time down. Call and say that you were really interested and excited about the job and just wanted to know if they had made any decisions. If they have they will tell you. If they haven't it will show them you have initiative and are really excited about working for them. When I hire and someone takes the time to call and show enthusiasm and perseverance I always give them a second interview. Don't get discouraged employers sometimes just get busy. Keep trying and remember that for every 100 no's you'll get one yes.

You can't go wrong calling those prospective employers. As mentioned above, it shows initiative and may even get you the job!
When you call; be pleasant and professional (try not to use slang words or speak as if you were just hangin' with your friends), ask for the Manager or whoever is in charge of hiring, and simply ask if anyone has had an opportunity to look over your application.
Very often, places that see a lot of turn-over (Retail for example) will keep applications on file if there is something particularly memorable about the person or application.
You could even get a call at a later time when a position opens up!

I would call back and say "I applied recently and was wondering if anyone had a chance to look over my application yet. You could ask about setting up an interview. This shows the employer that you really want the job.

If you don't hear anything in about a week, you should call and ask if you are still being considered for a job. They could have picked someone else OR they could still be reviewing applications. Either way, you want to know. You will appear more interested if you call and it could put your name at the top of the list. Good luck, job hunting is NEVER fun.

No calling them will not make you look desperate if you give them some time and call (say after a week after the closing date).

Sometimes they may be a bit slow in processing and you can certainly call them and ask if the position is still open or taken and if not, you would like to know when they plan to send out letters to prospective candidates.

After you submit the resume and app, then call a few days later. Be polite, ask if they got the app. , if the boss has read it yet. Are they considering you? When can you expect to hear back from them? Stuf like that. Stay positive, be polite, even if they say they hired somebody else or you aren't qualified. Maybe next month they want you. Ask where else you might try.

By all means call. Often, employers will hire the person who most wants the job.

It always looks good if you go and check up on your application. It shows the employer that you care about getting the job. It has always worked for me whenever I was looking for a job. Good luck!

After you submit your application/resume wait about a week and, if you haven't heard anything, call and tell them that you are still interested in the position and are wondering if it has been filled or if they are still deciding. It is good to let them know you are concerned and interested!

the most literal, silliest anti-catholic tirade at the same time as St Paul is amazingly sparkling: a million Cor 4:14-15 besides, concerning religious fatherhood contained in the Christian community, to the Church in Corinth he wrote: "i do no longer write this to make you ashamed yet to admonish you as my beloved little ones. For even if you need to have 10,000 guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers. certainly, in Christ Jesus I grew to develop into your father by the Gospel" (a million Corinthians 4:14-15). And he describes his relationship with the Christians of the Church in Thessalonica as being "like a father jointly with his little ones" (a million Thessalonians 2:11). doesn't St. Paul, contained in the above passages, declare to be the religious father of the Corinthian and Thessalonian church homes, their father contained in the Gospel - Father Paul, in case you'll?
