My parents own a company and have hired a lot of different types of people - from fellows to bums (my dad wants to save the world). There is one guy in particular that is practically a member of the family now that has really turned his life around after spending 12 years in prison for murder. He goes to church, has a great job (not working for us any longer) and is one of the nicest people you will meet.

They don't all do it but they are out there.

My husband!
He lost everything about 15 years ago. It took him years to pay fines off and get his life back together, but he did it.
He is now a formen for a surface mining company. We have a beautiful home with 2 acres, a pool, a motorcycle, a horse and several other critters and a new born.
He is also a wonderful father and husband to me.
However, some people never reform. It could be because they realy don't want to or they don't have any support from friends and family.
Riding some ones butt about past mistakes will not inspire them to improve thier life.
They need to praised for the good they are doing and guided toward doing more good.

My son has a felony conviction. He did not go to college or get a high school diploma but he has turned his life around. He is now a big rig truck driver for a company called Senn. He is making excellent money and is very happy.

My brother and my oldest son....have both had felonys and spent time in prison. Both have changed and are hard working. They actually live together.....when my son got out of prison a few months ago...my brother came to get him and help him...He said its because nobody really wanted to give him a chance...so he was going to help his nephew......It can be done if they really want it......but for some , they get so accustomed to the life and become institutionalized...and are afraid to face the real world. I was afraid that was going to happen to my son ( he spent 8 years in prison).....but, given a chance some can change.
