China will emerge in the next twenty years as a major importer of gas and thus shape the energy exchanges and markets in Asia. But different constraints must be overcome. The increase of natural gas share in the Chinese energy balance will depend on the country's capacity to create a unified gas market in place and instead of the fragmented exchanges

The free market. Demand is high worldwide. Gas prices would still be high right now even if Pee-Wee Herman were President and Captain Kangaroo ran the oil companies.

I would blame our heavy societal dependence on fossil fuels for high gas prices. Oil production is dropping gradually all over the world and the oil supply right now is barely keeping up with demand. we have 5% of thepopulation and use 25% of world energy supplies.we need to think about alternative fuels now. the era of cheap and easily accesible oil is pretty much gone. this situation is called the peak oil theory and we are really beginning to see the effects of it now.

I blame the society, because they raised them up that high! I mean the lowest gas price I have seen was $2.97, come on man why are they blaming us for hurricane Katrina ! We don't control the ocean.

rather than blame someone I would rather resolve the issue - but if it gets to $100 a barrel and $4 a gallon and it means we don't obey the threats of Iran, then so be it - as an american I will never succomb to a terrorist nation that ignores the fact that the holocaust was real.
but we can choose as a nation - Alaska and the nature that comes with it or $1.75 a gallon

Those oil producing nations who manipulate the upward spiral of oil prices by limiting the amount shipped to oil dependent nations. There never is, or was ever an oil shortage. These countries just want to try to squeeze blood out of a turnip.

People whith big trucks and using lots of gasoline. The only resone gas prices are going up is that we are running out of it. Less supply more demand and higher the prices.
