Some girls are really insecure with themselves and feel like makeup will make them more attractive, or they're desperate for attention, or maybe no one ever told them when enough was enough.

For some it is an experimental phase, for others its a fashion trend, some genuinely like it, others just are not confident enough about their own skins yet to try going without. Whatever the reason, its been going on as long as we have make-up- we have good evidence of the same question being asked by teh Greeks and Romans! If you are attracted to a girl who you feel wars to much, try telling her that you love the natural tone of her skin, or the way her own scent carries through the perfume. Thats the rightr way to encourage her to use a little less. Most women wear far less as they age and become confident in their beauty, so if she's young it will ease off, I promise.

I agree. Too much of anything including make up is not good.
When I was younger I was experimenting with purple eye shadow and my grandma said to me something I would never forget makeup should be used to bring out the beauty that is already inside of you not overdone.
Girls want to look and feel beautiful and makeup makes them feel older and more grown up and sophisticated as well.
I graduated high school years ago and I wear a lot less make up than I did back then. Now I wear makeup that enhances my face
a natural look that is radiant no caked on.
True beauty shows on the inside and your inside is what TRULY reflects the outside NOT the make up itself

I'm a grown woman and sometimes, depending on where I apply my make-up (i.e. bathroom, bedroom, family members house) It can be "Different". Sometimes it looks great. I get in my car and I'm driving to work, look in my mirror and yikes! Too much foundation and not blended enough!!! Lighting plays an important part in not over doing it!

They probably have not been shown the way to properly apply makeup or maybe they can't see very good and do not realize how much they are putting on. I looked pretty funny when I started wearing it. My mother did not show me how to apply it.

Because they either do not know how to properly apply make up, making most of it unnoticable, or because they think it looks good to be that painted up. And some people just want attention.

it depends on how long theyve been wearing makeup, I remember when i started wearing makeup i use to cake on the blue or green eye shadow, experince is the key, i find a little is better.the natural look is better.

They want to look beautiful. Plus some females love to wear it because it completes the outfit. I just love to wear it myself.

They think it makes them look more mature/older.
They're trying to hide flaws
Wearing make up should enhance your looks, not change them dramatically. Less is so much more beautiful.
