I want to dig a hole to put up umbrella clothesline pole and was wondering if I should use cement around the pole in the ground itself.

That's basically what I did with mine. It took a full five gallon bucket of cement. . .but it's not going anywhere now! Mine came with a sort of plastic sleeve for the pole. . .I cemented the sleeve into the ground (make sure you get it level so the pole stands straight).

Your clothesline should have come with directions but yes you need cement. Dig your hole to the depth of the insert and then set it in cement - make the hole wide - maybe 12-15 inches and use enough cement to offset the weight of the line when full. Give it 24-48 hours to set good before you use it. In high winds remove the pole from the insert - I lost one to a downed tree a few years ago. You can email me if you need help - renegadedustbunny@yahoo.com. - put clothesline in the header
