A capsule or ship was sent in to space, many years ago... it contained data, which includes some mathematics, some music (that of Bach and of Pink Floyd) and some photos, along w/ other things... kind of like a Time Capsule, but in Space. Does anyone know the name of that ship or capsule? I remember it being referenced on the X-Files once.

No spacecraft contains the Dark Side of the Moon album. What you are thinking of is the message placed aboard both Voyager 1 and 2. All the info on this can be found here http://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/spacecraft/goldenrec.html

Even as great a group as Pink Floyd was, and with the great writing talent of Roger Waters & David Gilmour, they did not rate getting any of their music sent on any sopacecraft. Maybe Pink Floyd songs have been transmitted to astronauts as wake up music or something, but nothing permanent.

It's one of the Voyagers, I think - the music is part of the greeting sent along with the spacecraft in case it should ever be found by extraterrestrials.

With all due respect, this forum contains prizes for mathematics. I'd like to go to Space Camp and you are not helping the cause.
