If you're running Windows (2000 or XP) try Windows Defender Beta. It's the best out there and it's TOTALLY FREE!!

Read below and go to the Java and get Update 7 and then remove any old versions.
Next go here and and do a scan following the proper procedures. This procedure can be used with Anti-Virus programs and any other Anti-Spyware programs. Remember that just because a program doesn't remove an infection, doesn't mean it is no good. There are many new Virus, Spyware/Adware programs introduced every day.

Here is a package that protects me and my neighbor. I haven't been infected in 5 months, and since I put it on his computer, he hasn't been infected in 3 months. He likes to download porn and it still protects him. Best of all everything is Free and work as good and better than pay packages.

Firewall. - If you have XP with SP2 then use the existing Windows firewall. It is excellent. If not then download Zone Alarm free version.
Anti-Virus program - If you have one then use it or replace it with one of these: AVG 7.1 or AVAST
Anti-Spy programs: Use more than one. None can catch all the garbage out there: Windows Defender Beta 2, Spybot Search and Destroy, AdAware SE Personal.
This program will work with the AV and AS programs and add an additional layer of protection and it really works great.

I have tried Kaspersky, but its making the PC a little bit slow. AVG is better when compared. Without any doubt you can Try AVG.

There are a number of free virus scanners like AVG free edition. Go onto www.download.com and get one of the free ones.

You have to install AntiVirus programs like : Norton AntiVirus..
you can search then download antivirus programs @ www.download.com
You'll find plenty of free and trial software that will let you get rid of your viruses..

Download and install Avast, and / or AVG, both are free and both do a good job.
However it may be a good idea to go to Trend Micro and run their free Housecall anti virus before you do anything else.
