The Isley Brothers wrote the song originally, but the Beatles did the most popular version of the song.

The Isley Brothers. I just saw them in concert about a year ago. But the Beatles did cover the song.

It was originally performed by the Topnotes. Later it was performed by the Beatles..... and then by everyone else!
In their Anthology 1 album there`s a live performance by the Beatles and you can hear John say something like "now this song is from one of our favorite American bands, the Topnotes"...

It was at first by the Topnotes, then by the Isley Brothers, then covered by The Beatles, who made it famous in their Abbey Road record.

The Beatles did a fantastic version of it on their 2nd album. It has a bit more pep to it than the original.
