I am a Math major education minor. I was just informed that I can take my math degree and go to medical school. Is this true? and what are my options career wise?

Im almost done with my B.S. in math and now instead of teaching math Im thinking about medical school. Being a math teacher would be an easy route for me.I love math and I love to teach it. And ive also loved medicine. I just found out recently that I can combine the two. How should I go about becoming a pediatrican if I have a math degree?

Try this for the admissions requirements:

You seem to satisfy the "as broad of education as possible" requirement, and based on your BS the math requirement, you will still have to take Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and complete a decent amount of courses in at literature, languages, the arts, humanities.

Career-wise, your options are as good as of any other student going to a medical school. You might possibly be a year behind, if you need to take all the prerequisite courses listed above and
have not done so yet.

You can go to medical school with any degree. There is no real pre-med major. You do however have to take certain classes that are required by medical schools. Usually involves Introductionary Chemistry, Biology, Organic Chemsitry, Calculus II and Linear Algebra.
