They're a brother and sister. The guy is named Alex the girl is Elayne. I can't think of a last name that would work, though. I need something kind of european sounding (they're white americans) that sounds believeable but isn't really common (not Smith). I was thinking something that starts with an L might go nice but I'm really stuck.

How about Laiho. You'd have a character named Alex Laiho and that'd be really funny.

But seiously I think you should just browe through one of those dictionaris of famous people, I'm sure you can find one in the library. Just read the table of contents or the index, it's just a big list of last names, I'm sure something will strike your fancy.

A lot of old english names are descriptive, so maybe pull out a trait similar to both and make up a last name with that. If they are bold or trustworthy maybe something like Lionsgate or you could just use a famous name like Lennon or Churchill.

I don't know of any last names with a L but a uncommon one is SeRine, it's German and Scottish but it sounds cool. There are only 12 people with the last name ( I should know I'm one of them) hope you find the right name.

I am a published writer and often look for names in my family tree. If that does not work for a character I go to the phone book.
