im married now but im just remembering when filling out forms and stuff before i was married and i was just engaged..u know how it says marital status and it says like married, single,, divorced, widow, etc....i always used to think they shud have something for engaged/otherwise comitted ppl to accurately describe thier situation.....i know legally u are considered single in this way but when i was engaged i didnt wanna put single.. anybody else with me or im crazy lol

but im saying im not going to identify myself as single when i feel and know that i am not single even if its just for information purposes....atleast i have the married option now lol

i'm engaged right now and i feel the same way as you. I feel there should be something that identifys me and my situation. expecially because im not getting married till next year. Just so you know you are not the only one thinking this.

oh yes! it really gets to me from time to time when fill forms out. I think I even complained to the place I was filling stuff out for once. LOL it was pointless but I was feeling bitchy that day and that was just another thing that annoyed and irritated me. They really should put something like "taken" or whatever, but I guess it doesnt really make sense for them to, because as we all know Unofrtunately - relationships dont last really long, until you find the one that you marry - so it will be really misleading to put that option while filling something out and the next day break up and it will be no longer true. At least in marriage if that "box status" changes , divorce takes a long time to process so it will still be true for longer than a day. =) just my thoughts

government and other forms serve the purpose of gathering information, they are not the dr. phil show or a hen party in your office kitchen

wow! i think this is the dumbest question/statement i have ever been exposed to....typically forms are not dealing with your emotional or social state, they are dealing with legal issues that have nothing to do with commitment or otherwise
