you put too much on the area, you also need an underlayment that can support the stress caused by it shrinking as the water in the plaster evaporates. If you have a hole use a mesh fiber covered with plaster. if you have a crack - cover with a plaster tape and cover the tape with thin layer of plaster.

prob. it has dried too quickly, maybe the heat or maybe the background. Depending on what you are plastering, you need to use a few coats of p.v.a first, this helps adhesion and prevents from drying too quickly. Unless you know what you are doing, It is a job that should be left to a professional. I have seen far too many bodge up d.i.y plastering.

If you are fixing a hole or something in your wall, or going over an existing crack, you need to use drywall tape, and then mud over it.

Too wet, too dry, dried too fast, too thick, too thin, many causes. What exactly is the use or reason for the work?

It is because it dried too fast. If it is too hot, this will occur. It will also occur if your water to mix ratio is incorrect
