that's why I'm not a vegetarian! you can kill one cow or a hundred carrots! lol ya, we're willing to suspend or alter certain fundamental beliefs for survival's sake, eh? Or maybe if they're too stupid to run away when a predator approaches, we just figure they're too dumb to know if they're alive or dead anyway!

plants are a food source that always return, so yea its ok to kill a plant, but just like if you kill a weed, there going to come back, if we kill all the animals, not so much as one will return. I do believe all thing have a soul, and some things souls are willing to care for the many then themselves, because without those minor souls, we will al be dead

First, I have never heard anyone say that killing is wrong in the way you mean it. When we wash our hands, we are killing germs, or at least trying to. As someone above said, we also use antibiotics. Most people do not believe it is wrong to kill a bird or mammal for food. Most agree that it is acceptable to kill a fellow human being as self defense. And some agree with the death penalty. What most people agree with is that it is wrong to kill without a reason or for pure fun. Therefore, most people will frown upon destruction of plants just for fun.

Unfortunately you're wrong about killing. Read your history and people have been killing in the name of God, Religion, Tribe, Nation, and Resources for thousands of years. All rationalizatons of it being okay to kill despite the "God" mandate not to do so. We need to respect the inherent worth and dignity of each other and Nations while striving to share resources equally. So far as killing a plant goes...If the weed gives you a flower you enjoy looking at don't pull it. Deforestation or mass plant destruction on the other hand is disrespectful of the environment and ecology in general and needs to be fought.

I think it's fairly obvious from observation that plants are not at the same level of existance as humans. However, exactly where you draw the line IS sort of arbitrary. Especially in light of how we have recently discovered that certain animals are quite a bit more intelligent than we first thought. But most people still draw the line at killing other PEOPLE. We have the right to decide the fate of other living things based solely on our place in the food chain, irrespective of any moral arguments.

Plants are alive but they are not like humans. They don't feel when they are dying. They don't have a soul. They can't think or do anything. And I agree with the killing a person and plants but they will grow back- a person won't come back.

"If this so called God is real." When you take away God you won't see plants being killed. You will begin to see everything being killed. I have been reading an enourmous amount of questions about the validity of God, after people haved sacrificed their lives believing in God for us not to have to live in slavery or concentration camps. Let's not take God so lightly. If you don't want to eat plants or meat because they have a soul, then I will see you at your funeral.

You reasoning is correct.
But your premises are overboard. Most people have no problem with killing in general. MAJORITY of people only have problem with killing humans -- this has nothing to do with soul, this is pure biological species self preservation. SMALL minority thinks that it is not OK to kill some animals in certain ways.
So the problem goes away if you don't see anything morally wrong with killing other species as long as it does not harm our species indirectly (say ecologically). And most people DO think that way.

1st there are times when it is appropriate to kill either man or animal.
2nd plants lack the cellular complexity to "feel" therefore a salad is not genocide.
that being the case Can I get you some round up.
I do however appreciate the apparent thought you put in to this question.

there are people called fruitarians who believe that killing plants is wrong, so they only eat fruits, leaving the rest of the plant to live. I asked how someone who is against abortion can eat eggs. I hope you get better answers to your question than I did to mine! Get ready for the bible verses and hypocritical explanations!

Who decides who has a soul? That would be God who created mankind to have souls, not plants.
