i cant think of any "real" exceptions, unless you dare to go bold and ask where the first cell came from, its a classic case of the chicken or the egg? which also brings up some scientific theories that the first cell came from a culmination of elements, perhaps some we have never heard off, that can achieve "life" if you will, in cellular form. but aside from that, i cannot think of any real ones sorry
