Like most things, an important detail is *approach*—the LEAST painful way to accomplish ANY painful thing is to MINIMIZE your EXPOSURE to the painful aspect! ;)

To put out the candle with your fingers, bring them in from BELOW the flame, be SURE they are WET (WETTER the BETTER), and then *POOF* SNIP out the FLAME! :)

Yes, it might sting a bit, but given that actual "burns" are typically measured in FIRST, SECOND and THIRD DEGREE (the WORST of the three levels, this is when the NERVE has been burned through) based upon actual DAMAGE to the skin, all you will receive from snipping off a CANDLE—using the proper technique—is a mere MILD SINGE! ;)
